As we are slowly embracing a new way of gathering together I think the look and purpose of future lounges will be even more important than before because we will need to come up with creative and engaging areas while still thinking about the safety and health of guests.

Inspired by the social distancing circles that popped up in New York city’s parks, we thought about a few ideas of what furniture to choose for outdoor events:

Pieces with the least amount of hand and backrest surface to avoid leaving handprints - when we use armless pieces it immediately creates an open layout feeling with fewer chances of guests being physically cramped and squeezed together and it can help us all keep the social distancing. Keeping these basic guidelines will help us move in the right direction and show the responsibility and willingness of our industry to really make a change and head back to normal.
