3 Miami Venues Perfectly Suited for Conferences
Miami’s year round tropical climate keeps it a hot destination for events. The appeal goes beyond just the weather to include the historical Art Deco style and the diverse international cultures making it a unique melting pot with easy accessibility thanks to its expansive airport.
Once you’re here the venue options can seem endless, and maybe a little bit overwhelming. From Miami Beach to Doral and Coconut Grove to Wynwood and Aventura, there are numerous venues to choose from for a variety of groups.
To help you narrow your list, here are three of our favorite venues perfectly suited for conferences in Miami.
Venue 1: 1111 Lincoln Road
Based on the name, you may be thinking, “Are you sure this is a venue, not just an empty lot?” We assure you this is one of the coolest and most unique event venues in Miami.
In fact, 1111 Lincoln Road is not just a venue, but a working parking structure with the 7th floor doubling as a popular event venue, a credit to its 360-degree views of Miami Beach. The open air parking lot is located on the Westside of famous Lincoln Road and its many bars, restaurants and cafes within walking distance as well as many popular hotels nearby.
What Makes It Great
Because of its industrial purpose during the day, the space is a totally blank canvas allowing you total design freedom. We have provided furniture for an event where the keynote stage sat on one side of the floor backdropped by the scenic view of the city, while we created mini lounges on the opposite side facing outward.
The two convening spaces facing away from each other provided a unique arrangement for mixing focused learning and relaxed networking, all with the benefits of Miami’s fresh air and sunny backdrop.
Things to Consider During Planning
The nature of 1111 Lincoln Road as a parking garage means planners need to be prepared to bring in every aspect of the event from lighting and sound equipment to rental furniture, decor, and catering, the latter of which can be staged on another floor.
Additionally, there are logistical challenges for load-in that need to be factor into your timeline. Be sure to work with local vendors familiar with the space, as we are, to ensure they know protocols for an effective setup and strike along with timing expectations for both.
Venue 2: 1 Hotel South Beach
As predicted, mindfulness and wellness are taking a bigger focus in events this year and the 1 Hotel on Collins Avenue of Miami Beach lends itself perfectly to companies looking to factor those elements into their plans.
What Makes It Great
This Miami Beach hotel is ideal for larger groups with 425 guest rooms and more than 100,000 square feet of event space on the property. It stretches along 600 feet of beach with rooms providing both city and ocean views.
An event highlight: the main ballroom has an inherent green wall with more than 1,200 live plants tended to regularly by the onsite staff, adding both unique decor and sustainability element to your event.
The onsite dining options and catering utilize all locally sourced and organic ingredients to keep health and flavor at the forefront.
Things to Consider
The 1 Hotel has a strict policy for load-in and strike requiring all daytime use of the loading docks to avoid disturbing nearby residents after hours. Additionally, the loading areas are limited in space so plan on adding a day or two onto both ends of your timeline to accommodate the daytime restrictions and each vendor showing up separately.
Those experienced with the venue have navigated this before so rest assured it can be done and the results are worth it.
Venue 3: New World Symphony
Add an artistic ambiance to your next Miami conference by hosting it in the New World Symphony building designed by world renowned architect and designer Frank Gehry.
What Makes It Great
Your keynote presentations will take a different feel entirely when hosted in the main symphony hall, an experience very unique to Miami. Beyond the hall, you can take advantage of multiple floors for breakout rooms or sponsorship activation spaces. Additionally, the Soundscape Park in the front of the venue and the rooftop are ideal for after-hours cocktail receptions and networking.
Things To Consider
As with many venues on Miami Beach, the loading docks are on the smaller side requiring coordination to have vendors like us deliver at different times throughout the day prior to and after your event.
