3 lounge configurations to help you create a large and inviting lounge area.
When you design a furniture layout for an event, one of the most challenging things is coming up with a layout that can accommodate a large group and at the same time feel inviting and intimate.
Designing the right lounge experience for your customers.
When we look at hospitality for inspiration, hotel lobbies and airport lounges have long seating areas that feel communal. Also, you can notice smaller lounge clusters in a repeating pattern placed throughout the space. It creates a cohesive effect while providing seating for a large group of people that come and go.
We can create the same look, whether it is a conference or a large festival, with our Pallet lounge collection. The good thing about the Pallet furniture is that you can easily design a large space. By mixing any of the pallet lounge configurations, which are modular, you can work around the venue's layout to create lounge areas with the right look and flow for your attendees.
Customization options: let's explore three different configurations.
We've created a sketch for a lounge using three pallet configurations; the island, the Sideline view, and the Pallet Sofa.
The island is more of a focal point, most times, placed in the center of a space. It is great because people can sit around facing all directions. It has a back so people can sit comfortably, and the best part is the high back because it acts as a base to place plants, flowers, and other installations that can create a personalized experience.
The Sideline view is a long modular seating area. Guest can sit only on one side, so it will work great against a wall or create a "limit" within the space. Since the seating faces one side, you can place it to create an experience for your guest; one example of this is to place a sideline in front of a beautiful view, facing a stage, or a screen. Or you can use a sideline to design VIP areas or communal areas by adding tables in the front and small ottomans in front.
The Pallet sofa is smaller than the sideline, and it is great to create lounges in smaller spaces or as part of a large layout like this one.
Placing sofas with some space in between creates a look that feels more familiar and less.
The value of working with a modular lounge vs. fabricating from scratch
No matter how you arrange the pallet lounges, we designed each configuration to work well with each other. So the look will always feel cohesive - similar to how spaces feel with a custom buildout. Modular furniture has an advantage over a custom buildout, and it is that, in reality, events can change locations due to weather or other reason. In that case, you can easily reconfigure the space using the Pallet lounges and play with the configurations to work around a new room. With a buildup, it's harder to iterate, and this may also cause additional expenses and more time that you may or may not have.
Personalize the experience with the right choice of color
The pallet collection includes a variety of colorful cushions, so you can pick the one that matches your company logo and create a look that feels branded and thoughtful. But it doesn't end there. You can choose the right colors to help tie in an experience you have in mind for your attendees. For example, if the vibe is earthy and you would like to make the space feel grounded, you can achieve that by adding green, cream, and brown pillows. On the other hand, if the event has a carnival theme, red and cream cushions will look great.
The idea is to look at the seating cushions as part of the storytelling.
